DIY mid century modern sideboard first remove the kick boards from the bottom of the cabinet with a saw. Cut furring strips to fit along the front outer edges of the outer cabinets. Cut pieces of plywood to fit over the outer sides of the end cabinets. Cut grid to fit across the entire front of three cabinets. Cut grid strips to fit over the spacers between the cabinets.
Install metal foot plates on the outer corners on the bottom of the cabinets. Insert the five screws in each foot plate along the bottom edge of the chassis. Click sideboard upright so that it stands on its legs. Measure the height of drawers and divide in half to determine where to place the drawer knobs vertically on the tray. Nail a small block of wood in each mid century modern sideboard door in the place where you want to install sliding the latch.

Install pressure lock with screws. Put the metal plate to the end of the slide lock. Screw the metal plate in place on the back of the door. Cut a piece of plywood to fit over the top of the cabinets. Cut pieces of bed molding to fit the plywood top. Sand the entire sideboard with medium-grit sandpaper to help paint stick well. Paint your mid century modern sideboard.
